Adult Ice Cream Float

When I was visiting my Mom over the 4th of July, we went to the Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival. This is a yearly festival that is full of vendors, crafts, food, and entertainment set in the lovely setting of Twin Lakes Park. It was great to be home during the festival. Every year the same vendors return and one of my favorites is the Christian W. Klay Winery tent.

I purchased a bottle of Summit Mist wine for two reasons. First, I tasted it at the tent and it was tasty. Second, the tasting sheet stated this wine would be delicious with vanilla ice cream in a float. Wine in a float? Yes please! The winery describes the wine this way: "our newest wine features a burst of grape with a hint of black cherries, this sparkling wine refreshes the palate."

This adult ice cream float was super yummy! Even though I drank it out of a champagne flute, I had to use the plastic spoon/straws that my mom has had since I was little. If you ever find yourself in Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania head over to the Christian W. Klay winery. They have a great selection of wines!

I just saw this picture on liqurious and had to see what it was -- it looks amazing! I've had champagne and sherbet before but never thought to make a float. I can't wait to try.
