Mmmm...macarons!

I got a box in the mail a few days ago. It was very plain on the outside. Just your standard ole cardboard box. I saw it on my front porch as I was driving towards my house. I knew what was inside, but I couldn't have imagined how wonderful it was going to be.

Twenty-four perfect macarons. I have always wanted to try a good macaron. I tried once to make them and it wasn't pretty. There are pictures of them all over the Internet and they look so good. I look at recipes for them and get intimidated. I came across this link for Petites Bouchées a few weeks ago and knew it was for me. Veronica from Veronica's Test Kitchen is the founder of this wonderful online bakery. Once I saw the site, I was excited to place my order for these macarons.
Picking the flavors was easy once I saw the list. I decided on three different ones. Vanilla (filled with Madasgacar Bourbon Vanilla Buttercream), Hazelnut ( filled with Salted Caramel Cream), and Matcha green tea (filled with Matcha ganache). I opened the box to find two cute brown boxes wrapped in ribbon. I opened the boxes and immediately sampled one of each flavor. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the hazelnut. MMM!
This was such a great thing to do. It was easy to order, the macarons came exactly when promised, and they are amazing. If you are in the market for some excellent macarons or just want to try them for the first time, head over to Petites Bouchées.

I just tried my first macaron this week, and I am in love. I can't wait to learn to make them myself, although it might be dangerous if I become successful!

I love baking, but I don't need to eat it...but I could sit and eat an entire box of these. That is how I know they are good, because I never do that!
